He is a self-absorbed president who is far to interested in his own supposedly historic accomplishments, such that they are. And his far left congress is ONLY interested in ramming healthcare and other unpopular leftist agendas down the throats of Americans as a way to insure the future of their socialist Democrat Party.
In talking about the dismal failure that Democrats have had trying to push Obamacare on a disapproving American Public, Nancy Pelosi is taking the Democrat Party Line Talking Points that it has actually been the Republicans who stopped it. All the while KNOWING that until Massachusetts, the Republicans did not have the votes to stop it.
“We also have the responsibility, if we can’t find that common ground, to stand our ground on principles,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), rejecting bipartisanship as a goal unto itself. “If we can’t find a bipartisan way to do it, we are not going to say, ‘Well, if it is not bipartisan, we are not going to do it.’ We are going to do what we believe.”
So–the REPUBLICANS have to move to the Democrats’ side in a compromise, and be “bipartisan”…but if the Democrats can’t find a bipartisan way to do it (i.e. if the Republicans decide to stand ground on THEIR principles…) then the Dems are going to “do what they believe” and push forward anyway.
That is without a doubt the most hypocritical thing I’ve ever heard.
It’s NOT OK for the Republicans to say “NO” and stand their ground on principles (knowing they’ll be ridiculed as the “do nothing” party by the Democrats) but it IS OK for the Democrats to do EXACTLY the same thing?
According to the Washington Post, the Democrat candidate in MA, Martha Coakley was interviewed about the conscience clause which allows healthcare workers to follow their consciences in terms of being involved in procedures like abortion or counseling birth control and to refuse to participate if they believe these procedures are wrong.
Coakley is quoted as saying that “Devout Catholics probably shouldn’t work in the emergency room.” I wonder what other jobs Catholics of good conscience should not pursue according to Ms. Coakley.
I have another idea: Devout Catholics probably shouldn’t vote for Democrats.
Well the new year is upon us! Let’s get back to work fighting the abomination that is Obamacare. Maybe we can still stop this. And if they pass it in spite of our opposition, the next battle is also in 2010…it’s called Election Day!
Wishing all the best in health and prosperity to Americans everywhere. A special prayer is sent out for our American troops who are serving in harm’s way to keep us safe and free!
Health Care in the United States is a very important and contentious issue. Currently the government in Washington, D.C. is moving at ‘light speed’ to try to rush health care reform through the legislative process and into law.
Many Americans object to the scope of the changes as well as the speed at which 6% of [...]more →
